Thirty Things I’ve Learned In My Thirty Years of Living
  1. There are two sides to every story.
  2. Always assume the best in hard situations.
  3. People are messy. (And yes, that includes you.) Extend grace.
  4. There is no such thing as too many cups of coffee.
  5. Never leave without saying, “I love you.”
  6. You’re never going to wear that shirt in the back of your closet again. Just donate it already.
  7. Fighting fair is way more important than being right.
  8. Be the first to apologize.
  9. If you think you don’t need to pack the diaper bag because you’re not going to be gone very long…you’re wrong.
  10. God really does know better than you.
  11. Practicing gratitude literally re-wires your brain. Practice it often.
  12. Look for the good in the world and you will always find it.
  13. Wear the shoes that you’re going to be most comfortable in, not the ones that look best with your outfit.
  14. Be your husband’s biggest cheerleader. He needs it more than you know.
  15. You don’t have to prove yourself to anyone. Your identity doesn’t lie in them anyways.
  16. If you’re at the grocery store and you can’t remember if you need a certain item or not…just grab it.
  17. You’re a really good mom, even when you don’t feel like it.
  18. There is never a bad time to bake cookies.
  19. You are capable of so much more than you think you are.
  20. Anxiety doesn’t get to define you. Only Jesus gets to do that.
  21. Don’t wear white while cooking spaghetti.
  22. You can’t spoil your baby. Hold her as long as you want to.
  23. ”No” isn’t a bad word. Set boundaries and be confident in them.
  24. If you’re running late, there’s at least a 50% chance you’re also low on gas.
  25. The best gift you can give your kids is a less stressed version of you. It’s okay to take care of yourself.
  26. Therapy is absolutely life changing.
  27. Investing in your marriage is the best decision you will ever make.
  28. Take lots of pictures. You’ll only regret the ones that you don’t take.
  29. You get to choose how you live your life, so choose well.
  30. You are immeasurably loved by the Savior of the world, and that changes everything.
