Enough to savor this warm cup of coffee.

Enough to listen to the birds sweetly singing.

Enough to feel the warmth of the sun on my face.

Slow me down, Lord.

Enough to soak in the sound of my children’s laughter.

Enough to hug my hubby just a little bit longer.

Enough to memorize the moment right in front of me.

Slow me down, Lord.

Enough to put the phone down.

Enough to crank the music up and dance.

Enough to say “yes” when I would normally say “hold on.”

Slow me down, Lord.

Enough to read just one more book.

Enough to sing just one more song.

Enough to stop and praise you for all the good, good gifts you graciously give.

I don’t want to be too busy getting to tomorrow that I miss the beauty of today.

So slow me down, Lord.
