I get to.
I get to wake up early so I can start my day with Jesus.
I get to pour bowls of cereal and pack school lunches.
I get to run boring errands in a car that’s reliable.
I get to wash dishes and fold endless loads of laundry.
I get to drive my daughter to activity after activity.
I get to prep and make home-cooked meals for my family.
I get to greet my husband after a long day of work.
I get to sweep floors, and wipe counters, and kiss boo-boos, and tuck in happy and healthy kids at night.
I get to plop into my bed at night completely exhausted.
I get to.
Lord, forgive me for my grumbling over the answered prayers I’m living in.
Help me park my mind in places that are pleasing to you.
Remind me just how good I’ve got it when I’m tempted to just complain.
For I know that every day is a new chance to see my to-do list as something I have to do or something I get to do…and I want to choose wisely.
