Here’s To The Daddies

Oh my stars, does my baby have a good daddy.

He laughs loud and loves hard.
He’s firm but fair.
He’s persistent yet patient.
He’s gracious and generous and is the greatest hugger around.
He’s always down for a game of hide-and-seek and never says no to a bedtime story.
He comes home drained from the work day but pursues his family anyway. (And more times than not also stops at the grocery store or coffee shop on the way home from said long day – I mean honestly, what a guy right?)

He’s truly the best daddy ever.

And I’m very aware that I don’t tell him this NEAR enough, and I know I really need to. Because no matter how tough or macho our men appear to be, they need words of affirmation too.

And as challenging as being a stay-at-home mom is, so is being a full-time working dad. And as easy as it is to talk about my weariness, my exhaustion, my frustration… it’s important for me to remember that he too has weariness, exhaustion, and frustration of his own, yet he comes home and loves us selflessly anyway.

Oh Lord, would you help me to do the very same thing.
