The Risk and Reward of Friendship

The Risk and Reward of Friendship

Friendships are hard.

I have been the one who’s felt misunderstood, and I’ve also been the one who’s held the misunderstanding.

I have been the one who’s been spoken to harshly, and I’ve also been the one who has spoken carelessly.

I have been the one who was cut out of the circle, and I’ve also been the one who’s done the cutting.

Like I said, friendship is hard.

And sometimes, time marches on and relationships fade. Sometimes, we make our peace and choose to part ways. Sometimes, the damage done is beyond repair.

But sometimes…God intervenes.

Sometimes, God moves mountains and softens hearts. Sometimes, God mends, heals, and restores what’s broken. Sometimes, God does the impossible, and a long-lost cause becomes the reconciliation of a lifetime.

And I’m forever grateful to be living proof of His redemption.

Because friendships are hard…but with Him, we can do really hard things. And real, raw, messy, and vulnerable friendships?

They’re more than worth the work.
