A Slow Summer

To drinking that third cup of coffee.

To soaking in morning sun.

To making a mess in the kitchen just for the heck of it.

To grilling out hamburgers and roasting marshmallows over the fire.

To watching movies in the basement and eating way too much popcorn.

To running through the sprinkler and playing in the sandbox.

To making magic in the middle of the messy, chaotic whirlwind that these few months bring, because we only get so many of them.

Here’s to a summer of memories that last, not because we did all the things, but because we didn’t.

Here’s to a slow summer.
