Comparison is the Thief of Joy

Comparison is the Thief of Joy

I’ve spent so much of my life comparing myself to others and feeling less than because I don’t “love loud.”

There are people who can attend all the gatherings, and volunteer at all the school functions, and sign up for all the meal trains, and accept all the invitations that come their way.

And that’s GREAT, because the world needs them.

But that’s not me. And it’s okay that it’s not.
And it’s okay if that’s not you, either.

Because the world also needs kind texts out of the blue, and one-on-one coffee dates, and Saturday night movie nights, and quiet dinners at home.

The world needs the people who will always show up to the parties, and it also needs the people who will always pick up the phone no matter what time it is.

The world needs both.
But it doesn’t need both from you.

Be confident in who God made you to be, sis. He doesn’t make mistakes, and He wired you in a perfect and powerful way to bring so much glory to His Name.

Let’s practice pushing our own opinions aside and start celebrating our differences rather than criticizing them.

God can and will use it ALL if we let Him.
