If I told you I swept these floors less than three hours before I took this picture, would you believe me?
A mama’s work is never done, is it.
I looked down at this pile and thought to myself, “what was the dang point of doing this in the first place?”
Have you been here?
It can be so easy to feel discouraged about these mundane tasks in our lives, wondering why we even take the time to do them if we have nothing to show for it.
But what I’m trying my best to remember in these moments is this: I’m planting seeds.
Planting seeds of love and respect into my husband.
Planting seeds of kindness and responsibility into my kids.
Planting seeds of humility into myself.
And though some days it may seem pointless pouring so much energy into something that never seems to get accomplished, I know I can have full confidence that He is accomplishing something so much greater in my heart for his glory and his kingdom.
And that is absolutely worth every minute spent sweeping floors.
“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:58
