The Necessity of Community

The Necessity of Community

I’m an introvert at heart. I love, and I mean LOVE, to be by myself. If I don’t get enough time alone during the week, I am not well. (No, I’m serious!)

And you know what? THAT’S OKAY! It’s how God made me. I don’t need to feel guilty or ashamed for liking alone time. It’s how I relax and fill up my cup, and those are GOOD things!

BUT, there is a very fine line between being an introvert, and being isolated. And quite honestly, I struggle all the time with crossing it.

When I’m having a bad day or things are hard, it’s my natural tendency to block out the world. To keep to myself. To pretend like everything’s okay when it’s really not.

And there in isolation is where Satan does his best work. It’s there in isolation where his lies are loud, his guilt is deep, and God’s hope is nowhere to be found.

That’s not what God wants for me.
And it’s not what He wants for you.

God designed us very intentionally to need each other. In fact, it’s literally impossible to overcome hardship by yourself.

True story. I know from personal experience.

So from my heart to yours, to whoever needs to see this, please be brave and talk to someone today.

Open up. Let them in.

Even if it’s hard.
Especially when it’s hard.
Whenever you least feel like talking to someone is probably when you need to talk to them the most.

It’s scary, I know. Believe me. I know. But I also know that you won’t regret it one bit.

God is with you, He is for you, and He’s placed people in your life for exactly this reason.

Don’t fight alone, friend. Please don’t fight alone. Life is so much better with your people in your corner.
