Go on the date.
Even if you didn’t sleep well the night before.
Even if you’re way behind on the to-do list.
Even if you have a fight with your spouse just hours before you’re supposed to leave. (Yep, that definitely happened.)
Go on the date.
Even if the kids make it hard for you to get out the door.
Even if it it’d be easier just to stay home.
Even if it feels forced at first.
Go on the date.
Eat the good food that fills your soul.
Drink way too much iced tea.
Make the stupid jokes.
Play the cheesy country songs that make you reminisce.
Go test a ridiculous amount of body sprays at bath and body works. (Yep, that also happened!)
Hold hands and have the heart to heart on the drive home. Lean over and give ‘em a smooch after you pull into the driveway. Look into their eyes and tell them you love them.
Just go on the date.
Even when it’s hard.
Even when it’s far from perfect.
Especially when it’s far from perfect.
Go on the date.
Breathe. Rest. Reset.
And if you wanna be really cool like us, take the blurry car-selfie like you did when you were teenagers.
Just go on the date. You’ll be so glad you did.
