I’m A Simple Girl At Heart

I’m A Simple Girl At Heart

I’m a simple girl at heart.

I’d rather be comfortable than cute. My go-to outfit is black leggings with an oversized sweatshirt, and I almost always have my hair up in a messy bun. (and by messy, I mean 𝘮𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘺.)

I drink my coffee from the same cup every morning. The familiarity makes my heart happy, and call me crazy, but the coffee just tastes better in this cup than any other one in the cupboard.

I watch the same handful of TV shows on repeat because the predictability brings me peace and the jokes never get old.

My idea of a good time is curling up with a book or taking a bubble bath.

If I could be in bed by 9:00pm every night, I would be.

And I could easily eat pizza every single night for dinner and never get tired of it.

Like I said, I’m a simple girl.

Some may even call me boring.

And you know what? I wouldn’t necessarily disagree with them.

Nothing about my normal rhythm is exciting. I’m not the adventurous, life of the party, drop-everything-and-hit-the-ground-running kinda gal.

I’m very predictable.

But I absolutely love my life.

It’s taken me a long time to find confidence in the way I operate. My insecurities can rise up very easily. But I’m learning that life doesn’t have to be lived loud to be lived well.

God is in my midst. He is actively working in my heart and in my home. And He is faithfully using my life to further His kingdom, no matter how plain or boring it may appear from the outside looking in.

So to any other simple-minded sisters out there who may also get in their head about how they fit into the world sometimes…

You’re not alone.

You’re living a beautiful and meaningful life.

And God is actively working in and through you, too.

Promise.
